Detail of The National Geographic Magazine, November 1928

December Update

December 17, 2025

It is with great joy I am able to say I have recently completed my last proof of concept piece (detail pictured above) before officially beginning The Scheherazade Project. Many years have led to this moment, and I am thrilled to embrace this precipice.

Preliminary calculations

We are laying the groundwork for the computer vision models and subsequent VLM training, which is equally exciting and daunting. Database development and components will be more fleshed out once we have the data samples (photographs), but I have successfully scanned one magazine in its entirety. A blank canvas waits on the wall, begging.

I am also thrilled to announce that I am working toward an exhibition at CSULB’s Carolyn Campagna Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum, a culmination of current thoughts slated to debut in the spring of 2027. Stay tuned for more details.

I am closing out this post (and this year) with the exciting news that The Scheherazade Project has secured fiscal sponsorship!! More on how to donate and support the project financially will be released in January.

Happy holidays and wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
