Textile Arts LA announces our first artist in residency.  Member Aneesa Shami will have access to the Center for six weeks to explore work in a space conducive to large scale construction. The public nature of the space will also serve as an informal exhibit and allow for public engagement in a way private studio work cannot. Aneesa will be present most weekday afternoons from 1pm - 6pm, and will open the studio to the public from 1pm - 4pm on Saturdays.

In conjunction with the residency, Aneesa will conduct fiber workshopsthat will teach techniques (knitting, sewing, weaving) as well as introduce the history of these art forms and review their historical and cultural context. More information & registration for the workshops can be found here.
