Private Lessons

Join me in my studio for hands-on instruction and guidance in your personal projects. Hone your textile skills and learn specific techniques while working on what you want, when you want. Explore new ways of making in a safe environment. Push your boundaries in making art. These lessons are for makers who want more from their passions.

Each lesson is tailored to meet your needs. Come to the studio with an idea of what you want to make, and we will work together on a specific curriculum for you to complete your project. Make your own art in these lessons while learning how to execute your ideas with craft and integrity.

I specialize in:

  • weaving on a floor loom and off-loom techniques (rope weaving, basketry techniques, etc.)

  • knitting techniques for garments and sculptures (sweater construction, patterned fabric, colorwork, improv knitting, yarnbombing)

  • crochet techniques for home goods and sculptures (crochet stitches, in the round, three-dimensional construction)

  • beginner’s sewing and basic garment construction, including three-dimensional form building

  • textile/fiber art history (and still learning more!)

The studio has two floor looms + necessary equipment, two sewing machines, wall space, access to outdoor workspace + sink, a Van der Rohe chair, textile reference books, and plenty of green tea.
