I'll be conducting a studio residency at the Helms Design Center from August 11 - September 22, 2018. Join me weekly on Saturday afternoons from 1pm - 4pm for community-based projects and check back for other events taking place!

Textile Arts LA announces our first artist in residency. Member Aneesa Shami will have access to the Center for six weeks to explore work in a space conducive to large scale construction. The public nature of the space will also serve as an informal exhibit and allow for public engagement in a way private studio work cannot. Aneesa will be present most weekday afternoons from 1pm - 6pm, and from 10am - 4pm on Saturdays. Tentative plans call for the studio to be open to the public every Saturday afternoon from 1-4pm. 

In conjunction with the residency, Aneesa will conduct fiber workshops that will teach techniques (knitting, sewing, weaving) as well as introduce the history of these art forms and review their historical and cultural context. We'll announce those dates soon!
