Woman of Neptune

I worked on a small project for my fiance's short film, Neptune, in October of 2017. I created the costume for the Woman of Neptune character, who is an ethereal alien goddess, presumably from the planet of Neptune.

The costume was made from a silk-rayon blend fabric, which I dyed a bright blue color to mimic the planet Neptune. This costume was based loosely on the Grecian peplos and various images of the Madonna.

I sewed the fabric into a large rectangular shape, creating a form similar to a tunic. I fashioned a belt out of the same fabric to tie around her waist, lending more shape to the overall figure. A headdress made from draped fabric hides the actor's hair and provides mystique.

While I am not part of the industry, nor being groomed for it, I had quite a bit of fun during my one day on set - Grant truly pulled together a great cast and crew of people for his film!

Release date for Neptune TBD.
